Meghalaya is a beautiful state of India located at the north-eastern part of the country. This is a one stop for the nature lovers. The place is well known for its Adobe clouds. With the greenery, cloudy atmosphere, beautiful waterfalls it’s a pleasing destination for the tourists. The mesmerizing Meghalaya tour starts from Shilong. On the way to Shilong one can see the beautiful Umiam lake. One can enjoy the scenic view of the nature and boating here. After reaching at the city go for the local sightseeing which includes places like Wards lake, Lady hyderi Park, Cathedral Church. Stay overnight here.
Then the tour continues to Cherrapunjee. On the way stop at Mawkdok Dympep valley and then visit the Mawsami cave. Next visit the Eco park and the seven sister falls. The seven sister falls is considered as the best destination in Cherrapunjee. Then visit the Nohkalikai fall. Stay overnight at Cherrapunjee. Next day morning visit to Mawlynnlong. This place is known as the cleanest village of Asia. This place is also famous for the root bridges. These bridges are built by the secondary root of the rubber trees. The scenic view of the place is really amazing. Next drive to the railway station or airport for departure.
On arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station & transfer to Shillong (4,900 ft.), called ‘Scotland of the East”. Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Shillong.
After breakfast visit Don Bosco Museum, Ward’s Lake, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydari Park. Evening is free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Shillong.
After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. On the way enjoy Mawkdok Valley, Nohkalikai falls, Dainthelen Falls and Ramkrishna Mission (drive pass). On arrival at Cherrapunjee, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
After breakfast we get ready for a half day trek to visit the Double Decker Living Root Bridge deep inside the jungle. It will take 3 to 4 hrs (depending on the physical fitness of the person). Afternoon visit Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls or Mawsmai Falls), Mawsmai Cave, Koh Ram Hah and Ecopark. Evening back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
After breakfast drive to Guwahati, enroute visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Arrive and check in at hotel. In the evening visit ‘Kalakshetra’, a place where Assamese history and culture is presented through Light and sound show. Return to hotel. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
After breakfast out to visit Kamakhya Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple, Nabagraha Temple, Assam State Museum, State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Regional Science Centre and Sukreswar Temple (The 6th Jyotirlinga of Shiva). Afternoon we suggest an optional tour of Golden sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra (Direct Payment by own). Overnight stay at Guwahati.
After breakfast check out from hotel & transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
